What is Montessori?
The Montessori philosophy was founded by Dr. Maria Montessori in
the 1900’s.
She believed the most critical years for learning are birth to 6 years
(i.e. the Absorbent Mind).
Children need developmentally appropriate materials that provide
experiences for them to be self-motivated and independent.
Children worked best through self-directed learning with the
oversight of a directress (i.e. teacher).
Mixed age grouping helps develop confidence, independence and
leadership.
The virtual classroom is divided into 5 sections:
(Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Mathematics & Cultural)
Why Montessori?
